Indian Sports: Past and its Future

India is a land of religion, where sports is meant to be similar to gods. People are literally obsessed about the matches. But now a days people are only confined to the cricket matches. People sit in front of their television sets when there is a cricket match. They are not bothered about the other field of sports, India is good in other sports also like, athletics, hockey, air-rifle shooting, swimming, tennis, table tennis, chess, etc.

Now the main factor is where in the nation lacking. Why we are so backward in other fields of sports? Why we only talk about cricket? Why we consider cricket as the king of all games, where as hockey is our national game. Though I know that we are living in a democratic country and people have the right to follow any kind of sports according to their own will. But what I belief is that following only one sport is bad. What's the fault of the other sportsmen?

We are running towards cricket, young women leaves their boyfriends by saying that, "You are not a dude like Virat Kohli." But I asking to all of my readers that why we run after them so much. They are also a human being like us, not more than us. Right now India ended the test match series in Australia, but the team was badly beaten by Aussies. India's test team comprises of all the world renowned seniors, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni. But how much they contributed in the series. But still we are thinking about their way of playing cricket.

We don't consider the filed of sports. If we will take about table tennis, then we have Mouma Das, Poulumi Ghatak, but very less number of people must be aware of them. In Chess we have Dibyendu Burua, Koneru Humpy, but they are not that much renowned. Koneru Humpy is still famous but Dibyendu Burua could not play further because of lack of money. In badminton, we don't praise Saina Nehwal much, but still we praise Sania Mirza though she losses all the matches. She got married to a Pakistani guy but still she is playing for India. Legally she is Pakistani right now. Now she managed herself to be a sex symbol for all the youngsters. May be she forgot to concentrate of her game by thinking about her makeup kit.

We have Vijendra Singh in boxing, Abhinav Bindra in shooting, Pankaj Advani in snooker, but is anybody really interested in the hockey match of India and Pakistan. During the semi-finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, India's Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was watching the match with President Asif ALi Zardari (Mr. 10%), President of Pakistan. They were so excited. The whole crowd at the Mohali cricket ground were shouting with energy and was singing the same song. The song of winning!!! But has any time PM Manmohan Singh and President Zardari were witnessing the hockey or football match between Indian and Pakistan. the answer will be NO.

I am asking my readers that can't we people of the nation vow once to encourage the sports of India. Especially those people who wants to play for the nation but cannot play due to the shortage of money and lack of strong background. We should also appeal to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ajay Maken that don't take all the money in your own personal accounts, but give away those money to those down-trodden and needy sportsmen and women who are willing to do something for the nation and will perform well when they will provides proper chances. Then may be India will be standing at a strong position when her youngsters will be at the battle field for their own motherland.

Agneepath Agneepath Agneepath...

Agneepath Poster (2012)
After a long time Karan Johar (KJo) came up with a good movie. No extra matter in the movie, only story based, no foreign locations, were the strong points of this movie. Though it was a derivation of the old Amitabh Bachchan's "Agneepath", but still KJo resented it in a different manner. He changed a lot of situations in the movie. KJo and Karan Malhotra (director) did a very good homework. Without their contribution this movie would not have got so much life. They also chose every actors and actresses in this film according to the demand of the character. As if everybody was made for the character.

The story begins with the teachings of Dinanath Chauhan, a school-master of a small village. But Kancha killed the school master. His son Vijay shifted to Mumbai with his pregnant mother, and later on she gave birth to a baby girl, Shiksha. As Vijay became a daring person and committed some wrong deeds, his mother left him and also took his sister with her. But later on after 15 years of struggle, Vijay joined the force of Rauf Lala to reach Kancha. Finally he killed Rauf Lala and reached to Kancha.

Hrithik (Vijay Dinanath Chauhan) was fabulous. So far, in this year he has done only one project. But he did a breakthrough performance in this movie. Again he proved himself to be a horse of long race in B-town. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra (Kaali) also performed well. Though she didn't had a log time on the screen, but she did a very good justice and was the bridge between Vijay and his family. Zarina Wahab (Vijay's mother) was another star performer in the movie. As a mother she also balanced her character on the screen.

But with Hrithik, the super star performers were Rishi Kapoor (Rauf Lala) and Sanjay Dutt (Kancha Cheena). Rishi was the person who used to sale girls in lieu of money and was also selling cocaine in the city of Mumbai. He did his level best for this character and also lost some weight before the shooting of this movie.

Om Puri (Police Inspector Gaitunde) was the person who stood against corruption and Vijay used to admire him a lot. It is needless to say that Om Puri is a great artist. Chetan Pandit who played the role of Dinanath Chauhan was also good on  the screen. Arish Bhiwandiwala (Junior Vijay) put a huge similarity amon his and Hrithik's character. Did a very good work as it was his first film. Devan Bhojani who played a character of a deaf and dumb person, and mentally challenged also was again a good selection by Karan Malhotra and KJo.

Last but not the least, another important character if this movie was Shiksha (Vijay's sister). This character was played by a new comer, Kanika Tiwari. She is a 15 year old girl from Bhopal, got the opportunity to play this character by battling with 6, 500 girls, who appeared in the audition of Dharma Productions. She also showed her acting skills elegantly.

About Sanjay Dutt, what can I say. In one word, "AWESOME". After a long time he took a serious character and performed well. His dialogue delivery was perfect. For the first time he was working in Dharma Production, and accepted a negative character in the film. But later on in the year 2012 he will be teaming up with KJo again in the film, "Koochie Koochie Hota Hai". The get up he got in the film was daring and perfectly suitable for the character like Kancha Cheena.

Katrine Kaif (Chikni Chameli) performed an item song in the film, but got good applaud for her dance. For the first time she showed those typical "latke jhatke" in the film, and learned the dance steps by heart.

After watching this film, I thought that KJo got his biggest hit of this year. Heavy weight star casts, perfect dialogues, new music by Ajay and Atul Gogavale, editing by Akiv Ali was flawless. In one way we can regard it as a "Perfect Package".

People also got influenced with the tattoo got by Sanjay Dutt, some of the viewers also expressed their feelings to use ear ring like Kancha, some of them were also planned their new hair style by seeing Sanjay Dutt. So guys don't waste your time. Go and watch this movie. Total "paisa wasool picture hai mere dost"

Valentine's Day Special

Hey Friends!!! Love is in the air. Valentine's Day is approaching very rapidly. I hope lot of my friends had already made their plans for their Mr./ Ms. right. This is the day to express to a person that how much you love a person, whether he/ she is your lover, wife/ husband, siblings or parents. Because love is love. Though everybody's definition of love is a bit different but love is the part and parcel of everybody's life.

The whole world celebrate this day with full dedication, but very few people know the story behind this. I derived the story and want to share with my friends.

The concept of Valentine's Day came up from the Roman culture. They celebrated it on 15th Februray to celebrate the festival of Lupercalia to honor the gods Lupercus and Faunus as well as the founders of the Roman Empire Romulus and Remeus. But in 2700 AD, two priests Valentine and Marius refused to foloow the decree and secretly got married with each other. But in Roman culture the priests were not allowed to get married with anybody. But still Valentine was in love and he thought it to be the best way to be happy in life by getting married to the girl whom he loved.

But later on, when Valentine was in the jail, he again fall in love with the jailer's daughter. When he wrote his final note, he addressed to the daughter of the jailer and mentioned "From Your Valentine" at the end. From that very day, this celebration was known as the Valentine's Day throughout the world.

Later on the concept of celebrating this day with each & every near and dear ones came. In the very beginning of the 19th and 20th century people used to celebrate Valentine's Day with all those people who are very close to them. They can be friends, parents, siblings, or anyone. And that's why people used to share gifts to commemorate their contribution in each other's life.

But now-a-days the concept got changed. Now people only celebrate this day with their lovers or husband/ wife. In earlier times it used to be the day for all the near and dear ones. Why this concept cam into being. Is that the reason that now-a-days lovers or husband/ wife are much more important than others. In this long list of others you can include your parents, siblings and friends. But now people don't include them. May be the whole world has become very selfish and that's why narrowed down the reason behind love. Really the world is changing!!!
